Welcome to Bude Infant School

I would like to warmly welcome you to Bude Infant School.

I am very proud of our Infant School - the happy eager children, the enthusiastic and dedicated staff and the very supportive parents. I hope that you will be just as proud of the school should your child joins us.

We are determined to be a school where achievement is high and every child is able to develop and thrive within our nurturing environment. We have excellent staff who are caring and want the best for each individual child.

The school is a spacious building with wonderful grounds including a safe, secure woodland area which we use as an outdoor classroom. We are always looking to develop the school to enhance the learning environment.

We have recently divided our playground into two so the Reception children have their own learning and playing space to use during lesson time. (They still mix with the Year 1 and 2 children at lunchtimes/playtimes). This separate area is used in all weathers so the children can ‘learn through play’ both in and outside the classroom.

The staff work hard to inspire the children and to encourage them to learn and develop. The school motto is, ‘Play to learn, learn to achieve’ and we believe that learning through play is crucial and will help them to develop a love of learning that will enable them to achieve their full potential in years to come.

We believe that parental involvement is very important and we would encourage you to take an active part in your child’s learning. As part of this, we have regular teacher/parents meetings about your child and their learning.
