Early Years Foundation Stage Results

Performance of our EYFS Pupils

Children are observed throughout their time in Foundation Stage and assessed according to the Early Learning Goals. This table shows the percentage of children who achieved the expected level in the Early Learning Goals in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and also gives an indication of how our children are doing in comparison to other children in Foundation Stage.

What are we going to do now?

Data suggests that our pupils are achieving at a similar level to other pupils in Cornwall and nationally in the majority of areas. However we still think we can do better and so, with our new EYFS teachers, we have just developed our outside area significantly and have been looking at how to further enhance our continuous provision to capture even more independent learning. We now have regular team meetings to share ideas, problem solve and enhance observation and assessment skills. Teaching staff now use an online learning journal to record evidence which parents have the ability to view regularly and to comment on their children’s observations. We make detailed assessments of each child’s learning record using development matters. We are going to continue to ensure that we have more opportunities to moderate our assessments together and to ensure that our vision and expectations are consistent.
