Why do we have a School Council at Bude Infant School?
A School Council is a formal group of pupils within a school who are elected by their peers to represent them and their views. The effective use of our School Council reflects the inclusive ethos of Bude Infant School. Our school council provides a meaningful way in which pupils can voice their opinions and have their views taken into account in decisions which impact upon them.
Our School Council...
This year, Bude Infant School has an excellent group of eight School Councillors who help make certain decisions in the school.
In January, School Councillors to represent Foundation Stage will be elected in Red and Yellow Bases to join Year 1 and Year 2.
We have our very own School Council display and Noticeboard in school, on your right, as you enter The Hall, which helps to share key messages.
Since September, our School Council has helped:
- Create a poster for the new Bude Primary Federation
- Promote the problem of broken body boards left on Bude beaches by attending an event at Crooklets Beach which was broadcast on the BBC and in national newspapers!
- Set up a daily litter pick at playtimes
- Set up a rota to compost all the fruit and vegetable peelings after playtime.
Our School Council Aim 2016-2017
"To make Bude Infant School the best school it can possibly be, by listening to your ideas and helping to make them happen!"
