National Curry Week – Taster Day
Today the school was awash with Yellow and Red in honour of National Curry Week. The initial idea came from Michelle, our school cook, who wanted to involve our pupils in raising money for children in Kenya to have a cooked school meal - something we often take for granted in this country and we here at Bude Infant School are truly spoilt with them!
Our school councillors got involved by serving the curry, rice and accompaniments alongside our usual Friday menu. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience!!
“I enjoyed everything – serving puddings was fun!” – Jake
“I am speechless because I really really liked serving the hot red curry!” – Morvenna
“I liked helping them to choose the curry asking them if they wanted red hot or yellow mild” – Sam
“It was very fun and I enjoyed serving up the desserts” – Holly
Everyone has enjoyed the opportunity to dress up in bright colours and try something new. Even our Foundation Stage pupils were ‘Go for it Gophers’ trying the curry’s with enthusiasm. Well done and thanks to Michele and her team for a yummy day!
